Easy MCP AI connects your WordPress site to any MCP-compatible AI assistant — Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, and others — without needing Node.js, a proxy, or any complex server infrastructure. The plugin is pure PHP and activates 74 core WordPress tools the moment it’s installed, covering posts, pages, media, comments, users, categories, tags, menus, plugins, themes, blocks, custom post types, revisions, templates, and global styles. An additional 71 tools are available for popular plugins including WooCommerce, Advanced Custom Fields, Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, BuddyPress, and The Events Calendar — making the total toolkit 145 tools in all. For WordPress 6.9+ sites, it also auto-discovers and exposes any abilities registered via the WordPress Abilities API.

Security is a strong focus. Each API token uses SHA-256 hashing (raw tokens are never stored), and you can restrict individual tokens to specific tools via a checkbox-based permission tree. Additional controls include configurable rate limiting, IP whitelisting, WordPress capability checks on every tool call, and a full audit log of every AI action taken on your site. OAuth 2.1 with PKCE is also supported for AI clients that require it, with dynamic client registration and atomic refresh token rotation built in.

Easy MCP AI is completely free with no paid tiers. A third-party AI provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google is required to use the AI clients that connect to it, but no API key is entered into the plugin itself — you simply generate an access token and paste the endpoint URL into your AI client.
