What is WordPress MCP and how does it work?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and services, in this case your WordPress website. Once it's set up, your AI assistant can read, edit and update your site on your behalf, just from a conversation.
We set up Novamira Pro, a WordPress MCP plugin that connects Claude or ChatGPT directly to your site. You type a request, and it makes the change on your live site without you touching the WordPress backend at all.
It's one of the more useful things to come out of the AI space recently, and most small business owners don't know it exists yet.

What can you do with an AI-connected WordPress website?
Most people expect a list of simple tasks, and it handles those easily. But it goes a lot further than that.

Change opening hours, update a phone number, swap out an image, tweak the wording on a service page. The small jobs that feel fiddly in WordPress and get put off for weeks.

Is WordPress MCP setup right for every site?
This is still early-access territory. It's impressive and we use it ourselves, but it's not a replacement for a considered web strategy, or a skilled developer for complex work. For the right tasks it's fast and surprisingly capable. For others, a human is still the better call.
We'll be upfront with you about which is which before we set anything up.
There's also a subscription needed on your end, for Claude or ChatGPT. It's not expensive, and we'll walk you through exactly what's needed when we chat.

This is the part most setups skip. An AI connected to your site but not configured correctly will still attempt tasks, it just won't always go about them the right way. We make sure the right abilities are available, that the AI is finding and using them correctly, and that it's not improvising workarounds when the proper path hits a snag. If something isn't working cleanly, we fix it before handing anything over.

The interface itself is simple, it's just a conversation. We walk you through what it can handle, how to phrase requests to get the best results, and where the limits are.
